Shehzad Ghani has been the president of the Nepean squash club since 2022 and in his capacity as president has been able to help increase the number of active players at the club that diminished greatly during the covid years.. As a current member of the NSC I’d like to thank Shehzad Ghani and his team in running the club and the last tournament Feb 22/2025.Since becoming President in 2022 Shehzad has promoted and encouraged the squash program. I used to play squash for fun when in university and enjoyed the game. Fast forward 30 years and played a few games with a friend again for fun. It happened that we played the afternoon of a Nepean Squash Club Tournament. A couple of members were still around and told us about the club and tournament. Having been told that the league had members at all levels I joined. The next tournament came up and I took part. It was organized by Shehzad. He set up four divisions for the various ability levels. It was great to see the top players play and the encouragement for the newer players. Shehzad arranged prizes and refreshments - the league and tournaments are a fantastic way to enjoy the sport.

The Nepean Squash Club runs excellent tournaments that strike the right balance between fun and competition. Ibrahim is a top player in Ottawa. He reached out through the Nepean Squash League offering coaching. I had always just played for fun and jumped at the opportunity to improve my game . Ibraheem matched me up with another player of similar ability and he put us through our paces with instruction and drills. It was great to also have a regular partner to practice with. Ibrahim makes playing the game look easy with his experience as he demonstrates, he has taught me a lot and my game continues to go from strength to strength.

Ibrahim Ghani has coached my two kids for over a year. His initial emphasis on the fundamentals of the game has allowed them to see significant improvement of both their games. I can't recommend Ibrahim Ghani enough! He completely transformed my approach to squash, helping me build confidence on the court. Instead of overwhelming me with what to do, he wisely guided me on what not to do—don't run too much, don't be emotional, and don't hit too hard. These simple but powerful adjustments made a huge difference in my game and made it very fast.

He also fixed my beginner mistakes, from grip and swing to watching the ball and reading my opponent. His coaching style is clear, practical, and incredibly effective. If you’re looking for a coach who truly understands the game and knows how to bring out the best in you, Ibrahim is the one!
